Description
I would love to see if the 2004 Rocche might one day rival the legendary 1990
then 5 more years in stainless-steel tanks and finally in the bottle until its release to the market
slightly reduced and a little bit spirity suggesting insufficient fruit concentration for the weight of oak influence
let me at least note that Soter’s employment of old heirloom selections he brought with him from California (and that long informed special bottlings under his Etude label) has without question been instrumental in the delicious distinctiveness of his Mineral Ridge bottlings
(Fichet says that these vines directly abut Charmes and are his oldest as they were planted in 1918)
